Replacing an old metal-ceramic crown
Dental prosthetics and aesthetics
Mr. Mihăila came to us with the main complaint of an old metal-ceramic crown on the left central incisor. In addition to the unsightly effect of such a crown in the frontal area, it was also associated with a gap between the two central teeth and an insufficient length of the central incisor on the right side, which were disturbing for this patient.
When the doctor removed the crown, he could see that the tooth that had been polished for the old work and on which the work had been fixed had changed color, signaling problems in its previous treatment. This resulted in a root canal retreatment, performed under a microscope, so that the tooth would then receive an all-ceramic crown. All-ceramic crowns meet high aesthetic and functional requirements, which is why they are recommended in most cases.
See HERE more information about dental crowns.
To complete the treatment and obtain a maximum aesthetic and functional effect, a composite reconstruction was performed on the central incisor on the right side to close the unsightly space and lengthen the incisal edge, for a correct bite with that tooth.
